How much will my tuition be if I take an online course?

Full-time students enrolled on the UKCampus and interested in taking online courses will be assessed a residency-based per credit hour rate up to a full-time cap at 12 credit hours.

What do I pay if I am enrolled only in a fully online certificate or degree program?

Undergraduate students enrolled in a fully online certificate or degree program via the UKOnline campus will be assessed a per credit hour Undergraduate Online Learning Rate for all credit hours (no cap). The Online Learning Rate is the same regardless of residency.

Can I take both traditional on-campus and online courses? 

Undergraduate students enrolled on the UKCampus for Fall 2024 may build a course schedule with a mix of traditional, fully online or hybrid courses knowing that tuition and mandatory fees will cap at established full-time rates for both resident and non-resident students. 

Students whose only academic program is offered through UKOnline will be limited to enrolling in UKOnline courses.

What is considered full-time status? 

Any undergraduate student enrolled in 12 or more credit hours (whether those courses are online or on-campus) in a semester will be considered a full-time student. Graduate students taking 9 or more credit hours (whether those are online or on-campus) in a semester will be considered a full-time student.

What do I pay if I am enrolled on the UKCampus and want to add a minor and/or fully online certificate option?

Undergraduate students with a declared primary academic program with the UKCampus may add a UKOnline minor and/or certificate at no additional charge. Undergraduate students with a declared primary academic program within the UKCampus who add a second program major offered through UKOnline will be assessed the UK Undergraduate Online Rate for all online courses in addition to the regular tuition assessment for all other courses. Students whose only academic program is offered through UKOnline will be limited to enrolling in UKOnline courses.

What do I pay if I have multiple majors on the UKCampus and the UKOnline Campus?

Undergraduate students with a declared primary major on the UKCampus who add a second program major within the UKOnline campus will be assessed the UK Undergraduate Online Learning Rate in addition to tuition assessment for the traditional primary major. The Undergraduate Online Learning Rate is residency blind and does not cap. 

Students whose only academic program is offered through UKOnline will be limited to enrolling in UKOnline courses.

Will the Distance Learning Fee be assessed in addition to tuition and mandatory fees?

Graduate students will still be assessed a Distance Learning Fee ($10 per credit hour) in Academic Year 2024-2025.

For Academic Year 2024-2025, the tuition structure for all graduate or professional degree programs will remain the same as in Academic Year 2023-2024. Students enrolled in traditional programs on a UK campus (determined by degree and/or major) will be assessed a residency-based per credit hour rate up to a full-time cap at 9 credit hours.

Unless stated otherwise, graduate and professional program students enrolled exclusively in distance learning courses (i.e., fully online, hybrid, off-campus, TV courses and compressed video) will be assessed tuition using the applicable resident rate regardless of residency status.

The Distance Learning Fee ($10 PCH) will be assessed to graduate students enrolled in any courses offered through distance learning (i.e. fully online, hybrid, off-campus, TV courses and compressed video).
